First, all you people who didn't have school due to snow? Lucky bastards. LOL. Those of you with a six day weekend (yeah you know who you are! Hee!) I'm going to have to insist that that is not a weekend. That's a vacation. Hmph.

I'm warning you now. There's a lot under the cut. Including actual quotes from conversations throughout the day. And really, they probably seem funnier to me because I was there and you all may possibly think I'm very strange after reading but that's okay. I'm pretty sure some of you already think I'm strange. ~_^

Talk of class, almost getting run over, roommate fun, and other random stuff )

So. That's been my Valentine's day. Hope yours was fun too!

But see? Didn't I warn you there was a bunch beneath that cut? I haven't rambled like that on LJ in...forever. I think. Well, I probably just needed to get a good ramble in since I haven't had the chance to ramble in awhile. Now, I'm off to write J2 porn and then I'm writing het porn. Or smut, if you prefer. Whatever. LOL.

Oh and roommate just injured her foot slightly by running down the hall and jumping into my door. Yeah, it was kind of funny to watch how she sort of fell through the door and had to catch herself while laughing. Hee.

So it's all around a good day in the class department. This morning in CJ, it was decided that our test would be moved from Wednesday to Friday. Which means two extra days to study!

And in Shakespeare, she told us that next Monday is going to be a "catch up day" which basically means we don't have any class. And the paper that was going to be due next week is now due on March 2nd. Woohoo!

All this makes me very happy despite the fact that I still have to study for a test I have tomorrow. But I think I'll be okay once I go over the reading. If the test is anything like his quizzes then pffffft. No problem. *does a happy dance*

Also, I did a list of fics that I have to work on and *blinks* holy crap! I got a lot. (Though technically, of the three or four VM ones I mentioned, I really only just want to do the Logan/Meg one that's been in the back of my mind since...er...December. Oh, okay and maybe I want to work on the Logan fics for the kink table I have to fill. *facepalm*) Still. It's quite a list. And half of it is stuff that the folks of R66 got me started on. LOL.

I still have to do that master fic list that I've been wanting to do but oh man, I kind of want to just hit myself in the head at the thought of hunting down all my fics and linking them all. *blows out a breath* Well, I'll get to it. Soonish. Hopefully.

Okay, now I'm going to study. (And use LJ as a nice way to give myself a break. Yup!)

Oh! *glances down at the "music" box* And I bought the Daughtry CD today too, which made me even happier since I've been wanting the CD for awhile. So, another yay!

ETA: I can't believe I almost forgot this! Since WinchesterCon is going to be in LA this year, I might actually be able to go. Yup! *bounces* I mean, it's not that far, I'm only in New Mexico so I just need to skip over a couple of states. My chances of going will be higher if I manage to get a job over the summer so I can save up my money. And if I manage it? Classes be damned, on October 12-14, I'll be in LA celebrating the awesomeness of the Winchesters. If there's a test, I'll take it early or something. So yeah, if I can do it, I'll be there. ^_^

Okay, I know, I went all geeky over this class last semester too. But this semester we're reading different plays so I have a whole new reason to geek out. (Except for Hamlet. We're covering that again.) But we're also reading Othello, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, The Tempest...

See? New plays! *bounces* I'm excited. (And I've got Shakespeare quote icons. This one is from Henry IV. ^_^

Also, I've been blocked on the last thing I have to write for [community profile] slashfest for...well, forever it seems but today is the deadline so I'm trying to finish it. I finished the other four, this one just seems to be giving me problems.

I think it's because this is one of the stories that the Laptop O' Doom ate over break so that it would never be seen again. So I've had to start from scratch. (And once I didn't have the laptop over there, getting it written just wasn't happening since the other laptop is for my mom's work and it sits in the office, where the computer is. It's a whole big thing.) Damn RL. I have deadlines! Argh.

So yes, excited for Shakespeare. Frustrated about fic.

Well, hey, it's Shakespeare. And I like reading him for fun, so....

*shrugs*

Still, I wish we'd gone over Henry IV a bit more. Covering both parts in only a few days just wasn't as fun. (Though we did spend more time on the first part.) Luckily, I was able to recognize all but one or two of the excerpts from that play on the practice midterm. So, yay!

I'm hoping it won't be too hard. The midterm itself is only two parts. The first part she's just giving us twelve different passages from the four plays we've studied so far and we have to identify and analyze eight of them. The plays? The Comedy of Errors, The Merchant of Venice, A Midsummer's Night Dream, and Henry IV. Part two is where she gives us three different exchanges from a couple of the plays and we pick one and in a few paragraphs we have to explain the context of it in relation to the theme(s) of the play and the importance of it overall, things like that.

And okay, I'm pretty sure that I may have just bored some of you to death. ^_^ What can I say? I'm a big English-majoring geek. One who uses the phrase "geeking out" (something that came up at the study group earlier) and does, in fact, geek out over getting to read these plays for credit. Next up? Writing a paper on the history plays since we did the comedy paper already.

And then? Tragedies. Oh yeah, I'm so taking Shakespeare II next semester.

Honestly, I think this is the only class I've ever had where I was disappointed (to the point of muttering that the highlight of my day when it came to classes was ruined) when it got cancelled.

Okay, so now that I've rambled on about Shakespeare and papers and stuff, I'm off so that I can get some sleep before class tomorrow.
