Remember that J2 AU I was writing?

Seriously, anybody remember the J2 version of While You Were Sleeping that I claimed for
reel_spn?
Well, for obvious reasons, it was put on hold right when I had maybe a paragraph or two. But now, I'm back to writing and have finished the first section and am starting the first. And I even decided to be ambitious and go for 10,000 words on this one. That ought to be plenty enough to tell the story.
How far am I? *snorts* Not very. Take a look for yourself:
Wish me luck!
And for those of you interested (and to see if it sounds okay because, yes, I'm nervous), here's a sneak peek under the cut.
Jared grinned as the familiar notes of his favorite song began. There was no question that they were busy tonight. He didn’t mind though, it just meant that the band played a little louder than usual and made it even easier for him to listen as he cooked.
“Order’s ready!” He slid the plate onto the counter and grabbed the next ticket, already grabbing the bread.
“Isn’t it supposed to be ‘order up’?”
He glanced over and shook his head. “That’s for the normal people.”
“Which explains why you wouldn’t say it.” Sophia nodded, transferring a few plates onto a tray. “It all makes sense now,” she said, laughing as she turned and left the kitchen.
“Bitch.” It was said with fond amusement and the look she gave him as she walked out confirmed that she knew this.
She swung back into the room a few minutes later. “Your boy looks hot tonight.”
Jared flushed and glanced down. “He’s not my boy.”
Sophia raised an eyebrow. “If you had your way, you and Christian Kane would probably be making out later. Don’t deny it.”
Before Jared could respond, he was interrupted. “Jared!” He turned to find the owner of Graham’s, Lauren, standing in the doorway. “Could you cover Tina’s tables? She had to go home early, family emergency.”
Jared nodded. “Yeah, sure.”
“You’re a lifesaver, Padalecki. She’s got section two tonight,” Lauren said as she left the kitchen.
Sophia snorted when Jared froze. Section two was the section where the band usually sat in between sets and after they were done performing.
“Looks like tonight is your lucky night.”
“Oh God.”
