Fic: Bathtime Fun (Logan/Veronica) PG

blue_icy_roseIronic, that with that title it's PG, isn't it? Anyway, this was inspired by the lyrics to So Caught Up In You by .38 Special and the song was suggested by merc4 who wanted fluff. Hope this is what you had in mind!

“Logan! It wasn’t funny.”
Logan shook his head, still laughing as Veronica crossed her arms. He could tell that she was fighting back a laugh of her own as she stood there, dripping.
“It really was,” he finally managed as he began to calm. Then he made the mistake of glancing up as Veronica rolled her eyes. He glanced between her, Backup, and the now only partially full bathtub and broke into laughter once more.
“I don’t see why you’re laughing. You got wet too,” she muttered. He grinned.
“Oh, but it was completely worth it,” he replied, letting his gaze roam over her. She shifted under his gaze when his eyes lingered on the way her clothes now clung to her. He reached out and ruffled Backup’s wet fur. “Nice one, boy.”
Veronica let out a mock gasp. “Did you just side with my dog?” she asked, her voice overly dramatic.
“Well, yeah. He’s a pit bull.”
She grinned, enjoying the moment. “Don’t worry. He only bites if I tell him to. Though I doubt he’d bite you,” she said, glancing down at Backup, who had very happily rolled onto his back so that Logan could scratch his stomach. “Traitor.”
Logan smirked. “And what about you? Do you bite?”
She raised an eyebrow. “Sometimes. But if I do, I promise you’ll enjoy it.”
“Promises, promises.” He glanced down at Backup. “Personally, I can’t wait.”
Veronica laughed. “Well, it’s not going to happen if we don’t get him clean.” She glanced from Backup to the tub, clearly thinking that that was impossible.
Logan brightened. “Why didn’t you just say so?” he asked. He glanced down at Backup and motioned to the tub. “Get in.”
For a couple moments, Backup didn’t move, choosing to stare up at him as if he were crazy instead. Logan repeated the order and suddenly Backup was up and moving towards the tub. Veronica’s jaw dropped as she watched.
“Are you kidding me?” she demanded. “How did you do that? He’s been resisting getting a bath all day.”
Logan shrugged. “It’s a guy thing.” When Veronica didn’t say anything, he raised an eyebrow. “Veronica? You might want to get the shampoo on him before he decides it’d be more fun to try and pull you in again.”
That seemed to snap Veronica out of it and she quickly turned to start shampooing the dog. It went easily this time to Logan's amusement, until Backup jumped out of the tub and chose to shake the excess water off right then and there.
“Backup,” Veronica exclaimed. Logan swore as he got hit with water once more, frowning when Veronica snorted at him. “Come on, boy. Let’s get you dry.”
As Veronica led Backup out of the bathroom, Logan turned and eyed the mess that Backup had left behind. With a shake of his head, he turned on the shower, letting the water run so that the dirt that hadn’t disappeared would go down the drain. He grinned as an idea came to him and went to grab a couple more towels.
When Veronica came back, she found Logan half-naked already and testing the water. She paused for a moment, letting her eyes move over his body before lifting her eyes to meet his.
“What are you doing?” she asked. He grinned.
“Well, we did get dirty while getting your dog clean,” he said. “So I thought, what better way to get clean but with a nice hot shower?”
Veronica laughed as he reached out and pulled her closer, hands already sliding underneath her shirt to lift it above her head. “You could be right,” she conceded as they both quickly finished undressing, letting their clothes fall in a pile on the floor.
Logan motioned for her to get in the shower first. “I know I’m right. Now get in and I promise to wash your back.”
“Somehow I get the feeling that more than my back will get washed.”
He smirked. “Of course. After all, I’m offering my full services.”
Veronica smiled. “How generous of you.”
“I aim to please.”
