blue_icy_roseSo, I'm sitting here and watching The Shining and just laughing my ass off. I'm sorry but this version just makes me laugh especially after reading the book. (Um, Dean? Your man Jack? *snickers* I know he's supposed to be creepy but OMG, funny.)
I like the newer version better, okay? For one, Wendy has an effing brain/spine/whatever - like she does in the book! Seriously, she stabs him in the book and locks him up and slashes his hands and manages to still get away after getting hit with a mallet numerous times. And in Kubrick's film she runs around with a knife dangling from her hand, screaming.
Eh, I think I'm jaded now that I've read the book and know which version is closer to the book. So yes, I like the mini-series better. Because it kept the moving hedge animals and stuff!
So yeah. That was my pointless post of the day. Well...one of them. Greek Sing is later on tonight and there will be more pointless posts about that because I'm sure no one cares about fraternities and sororities making fools of themselves while my friends and I get drunk in the audience. (Seriously, one of the fraternities has the topic of Land Before Time. And another has Hairspray. And one of the sororities has Barbie World. I am going to die while drinking rum and coke.)
